I headed to Giant PA yesterday and found that if you purchase the $25 MasterCard, there is a $3.95 activation fee.  You decide whether or not to purchase it.  The benefit for do this deal is because it's like you're double dipping on gas points.  You purchase the card for $28.95 - which is worth 28 gas points and then you do your grocery shopping and spend $30 - and that's worth 30 gas points!
