This is something new I'm doing. I've saved all of my receipts and kept track of my gas purchases and TheCouponClippers.com purchases for the entire month of January! I was curious to see how much I saved and how much I spent so here are my January 2011 Totals!
$1,285.43 - Shelf Cost
- 794.56 - Coupons and Store Sales
495.12 - Out of Pocket (oop)
- 143.46 - oop expenses included $111.35 in gas and $32.11 TheCouponClippers.com purchases!
$ 351.66 - oop after gas and coupon purchases :-)
January's budget is $500 for a family of 4 - even though Jess is at college - she still has health and beauty needs as well as snacks, soda and water!!! I still think you need to calculate in your gas and other purchases for your savings!
I'm gonna try for February $400. We'll see how well I do - gas kills the budget but you have to calculate it in because you need to drive to the stores to get the savings :-)
Nice savings -- that is why I drive to York on 74 -- I think if you drive all the way to BJs that you can hit all the major stores on the way back so that saves gas... what do you think?
